Go M or stick with R

Here's an alternative, based on owning and missing a Leica R5 and I've several Barnack and M's.

Ask Leica if they still repair R's, that's the people in Germany, btw. If they do then ask them to check over the R6 and spend the M money on what they suggest. That will guarantee it for a few more years.

Then think again about the M's. I like the M6 because of the CW metering but the R's do it better and tell you more as they do it for you and you have a wider choice of metering when using them.
