EDIT: The answer was "take a left turn in the Epson isle and get a V550"
At the moment I shoot 35mm black and white and scan the negatives with an Epson V370 which does double duty as my daily document scanner. I'm happy with the results as they are good enough for 4x6 prints and occasionally A4 depending on the negative. For proper printing I get scans at a lab with a dedicated fim scanner.
Now I'm moving into medium format, which the V370 can't scan. If I want to get even lowest-resolution proof scans at the lab I'm looking at 10 euros/roll which at one roll per week makes a medium-format scanner look tempting.
The 9000f II seems to be getting good reviews and can be had for more than 100 euros below the price of an equivalent Epson (which I suppsoe would be the V600 series).
Is this a good choice? I'd be using it to scan 35mm and 120 in black and white, occassional colour, for small home prints and digital copies.
If anyone has experiences with either this scanner or knows some good alternatives, Im all ears.
