Going to Banff, Canada ...

The mountains pale in comparison to Lake Superior et environs.

Earl, just back two weeks of North of Superior bliss.

(It's tongue in cheek, OK???)

I would not try to do everything ... it's the temptation, of course, but do one thing and do it well, then plan to go back.

Many thanks to everybody again !! These are really a lot of good tips and information for me. :) I wasn't aware of the "bear-situation" around Banff, it will be good idea to inform somebody at the hotel when I will go for a hike. We have bears in Hokkaido (some kind of grizzly ?) but they usually don't come down to Sapporo.

I will for sure try to go to some local bar also and check if they have some live event. My Japanese friend lived and worked in Banff for one year and recommended me some bars but it is 15 years ago since he came back.

About hiking, I want to make one evening or early morning hike (1 to 3 hours) to see some nature without to many tourists.

If I can take some nice photos I will post them here !

Thanks again,

Gabor
