Also recommend J12 but also Komura 35mm is quite affordable and a lovely lens. I have one in black and its small and sharp with good IQ

3. like most CVs, useless at advertized wide open, except for a spot dead center about the size of a pencil eraser head.

Maybe you dropped yours on a concrete floor. Mine is great!
