Talk about happiness, I bought a new Exakta VX lla way back in 1956 that I used non-stop until 1970 when I purchased a Konica T2 SLR. I kept the "Zakta" and then ended up giving it to an uncle of mine later on. But I always had a soft spot for it. My uncle passed away 4 years ago and just before he told me that he was leaving it and its complement of lenses to me, but his executor was not able to "find" the lenses and for all purposes it and all the lenses were lost. To make a long story shorter I bought a Varex VX Exakta recently with 2 50mm Tessar lenses, a 3.5 and a 2.8. What fabulous lenses these are! Color, sharpness, clarity I just love these two lenses. Then to make things even happier, I happened upon a 35mm Steinheil Auto D Quinaron f2.8 that is in pristine shape and it focuses down to about 8 inches. Can hardly wait to run a test roll through this. Just had to share this with other SLR and Exakta enthusiasts. Hope to share some photos taken with this soon. Love the size and feel of this camera and got right in the groove with the lefty wind on. Anxious to hear from anyone who is familiar with these lenses, your take on them. Thanks.
