Not too long ago, following the observation of my better half that I had “too many” FSU cameras (yes, deluded, you know?). I set about a trawl of thE bay to see if my FEDs and Zorkis were really worth the effort of trying to sell. Fed3’s, 4’s and Zorki 4K’s don’t really sell for much, even if in outstanding nick (and I quite like the FED4, although I’m not sure when I might use it….). Anyway, there was I, intent on shedding a couple of cameras, when I saw what looked like a very nice Zorki 1. Now I don’t have any “1”s, and I think that I’ve posted about your recommendations before, but I am perhaps a little put off by the “loading through the bottom” routine. Despite this, the GAS began to rise and before I could sleep I had snagged it….It arrived a day or so ago as I was fixing my FED2 (other post).
So, far from shedding any cameras, I’ve acquired another….te-he-he.
Only now, the GAS has dragged me down into the world of bottom feeders. How low can it go?
I must report to you that this camera is really nice, Oh mommy, it’s gorgeous! I had seen a post where someone had commented on how small this is, but hadn’t appreciated quite how dinky it is with its Industar 22. It makes the FED4 look like medium format kit.
Like most others, this needs a little CLA before I use it, although it looks like it would work as it is. Looking forward to shooting with this!

Congrats on your Zorki 1 ... I too didn't have a '1' & was searching around after regretfully passing on a great NKVD Fed at a camera show. Before I got one a deal on a nice Tower type 3 came my way. Now I have the Tower & a Nicca to play with! I do like the Barnack-type cameras!

The Z1 (the 1c in particular) is my favourite, because it is indeed so small... I have a 1c that has a smoother advance than my Leica IIIc !
