Too Much to Bear...
Canned Air! NNNOOOOOOoooooooo.
Use a "Phhfftt Phhhffttt", small squeeze bulb air cleaner. More control.
In the camera shop (back in the '70s) all we used the canned air for was spit ball battles. It freezes them as they are propelled at fantastic rates.

When I get itchy fingers with any Leica stuff that I think I can repair myself, I think of the attached warning 🙂
OTOH, I did "repair" a friends Nikon FM2 two days ago. It was stuck, with shutter blades frozen in half-closed position.
I just opened the bottom, took a good look at the mechanism, moved a lever, and was able to wind the sucker. After that, the camera works just fine 🙂 Once in a while you deserve to get lucky, I guess.
But, when dealing with Leica stuff, ALWAYS remember what is says in the attached picture 😀

don't touch ANYTHING for the next couple days.
Trust me, your experience reminds me of some of my own with plastic models long time ago.
And the most valuable lesson I learned is that sometimes it's better to stop 😉
Do the Homer Simpson thing and get distracted with whatever crosses in front of you (aka 'Oh look! a dog with a curly tail!) 😉

Slightly OT, but does anyone know of either:
a) Any online instructions for freeing up stuck aperture blades in an M42 fit Flektogon 35/2.4, or
b) Anywhere in the UK that might unstick 'em and not charge twice the cost of the lens?
I had a go at it a while back, and got them moving again,but they re-jammed a week later 🙁

i have 9 (i think) aperture blades on a nice clean cloth, all in a row.
there is no way i can put that together again. the lens itself is back together in what frank suggested...a constant f2 lens.

I'm glad my canned air is in the supply closet, with the vacuum cleaner and our stock of light bulbs, very much away from my studio and my cameras! 🙂
