Came home today to a tube of free Kodak Porta film, the result of an e-mail survey I filled out 5 or 6 weeks ago. The good news is that I have four new rolls of film. The bad news is that three of the rolls are 135 and the fourth is 120! I know from previous threads that some on this forum requested 135 and were sent 120. Has anyone had their order filled with both 135 and 120?
How does this happen? Did the person filling the tubes run out of 135 and think, "What the hell, I'll just put in a roll of 120 and call it a day."
So much for goodwill on Kodak's part.

I too requested 35mm and got two of four rolls that were 120. Kodak may be smarter in this promotion then you think. I know my first instinct was to give the two rolls to a friend who shoots 120 since I have no use for it.
I am more curious to hear what people think of the film? I have not shot any of it yet. I like the kodak 400 UC but use Reala for my slow speed color film of choice.

Not trying to sound mean or anything but the people packing the tubes are probably from a Temp. Service and either don't care or are Mexican labor and can't read english very good. Can't see full time Kodak employees packing tubes, but I could be wrong. Maybe you can trade the roll of 120 film for 135 at the camera store or better yet get a Holga.

There's a novel solution: Get a Holga! I like any idea that justifies buying more cameras.

Common english for us folks SOUTH of the border. Where the Stanley Cup resides.
But in all reality, probably not for long the way the Hurricanes are playing right now!

Good advice Mike. Do you have a 120 you can send me?

Right ... there were many hands involved in the promotion, so things easily got mixed up. And right again, if you have film you can't use it all, DO give the "unusable" film to someone who can, and call Kodak and they will send you out what you need. If you need the contact info at Kodak, send me a PM and I will send it to you.

I'll take some too if anyone else has any more 120. Word on the street says it will work in my Rolleiflex 2.8E, and I'll send in return some 35mm film. Please specify color or B/W.

Just a quick question: Where exactly on the survey could you "request" what sort of film you want? I may be wrong but If I remember correctly they asked what sort of film you shoot primarily but I can't remember that there was a possibility to actually choose what they send you.

I don't recall the actual wording but I believe they offered four rolls of free film and asked which format I wanted. From a marketing perspective, it would not make any sense for them to randomly send out film in formats other than the one specified. They want me to sample their film and buy some. Can’t do it if their film does not fit my cameras.

Charlie
