I am attending a college in the middle of nowhere called Easton, PA. Plus, I have no car so I don't think I can get my films developed locally. Is there any reputable online places I can get my films developed? My next best alternative currently is RiteAid. I am also running low on films. I am using some Kodak 400TX I got from a friend and Fuji Superia 200 I picked up while traveling. Preferably something not too expensive, easier on my student wallet 😱.

P.S. I see people selling their expired, frozen films on the classified. What's up with that?

P.S.S. The focusing ring on my Zeiss 35/2 Biogon is a bit stiff. How much do you think it will cost to smooth it out? And where should I go? I don't want to spend too much because it's a very minor problem.

Feedback on the question I have an opinion.

For this have a look at the mail order offer of a sponsor here, well discussed in this forum. I can recommend them too.

Nothing special: It is the way to go to stock film and extend noticeable expiration by years. Low ISO film seems to last longer than high sensivity film.

Some of these old films aren't available in-date any more.

Apparently the last rolls of Kodak Technical Pan were from bulk stock that Kodak found in their freezer; it hadn't actually been manufactured for years.

Film Processing

Film Processing

I currently use Praus Productions in Rochester, NY. I have been extremely pleased with the quality of work he is doing. Great customer service and very timely processing. Out and back in under a week. Not to mention the film comes back scratch free and very clean.

Every Walmart store has a film deposit box somewhere near the electronics, where Fuji will develop your film (b+w or color negative, 35 mm or 120 or ...) for < 1$ a roll in about 10 days return.

Can you walk to a Wmart?

NCPS has done my film and scanning for a couple of years. I think they do a great job. I mail 5 or more rolls in a USPS Priority Mail Small Flat rate box which costs $5.00 for postage. You can get the boxes free from any US Post Office. I almost always have my film back one week from the day I mailed it to them in California. Jim

Thanks, I think I will go to Walmart to get my films developed.

I have some questions about airport scanner's effect on film. The unused 400 iso films have been scanned multiple times while I was traveling. Are they still usable?

^ I'm wondering the same thing. I just dropped off 8 rolls that have been through at least 8 airport scanners (without a protective bag) From 100-800 ISO and E-6, C-41, and B/W so we'll see how they turn out when I pick them up. I'm hoping everything is ok! heh
