A M9 + 90 Apo Summicron + 50 Summilux Asph, all nearly new, for 2700 USD ?
Yes, I believe deals like this occur every day of the week, all over the world.
I also believe in Father Christmas, tooth fairies, flying pigs and the never-ending gullibility of some of my fellow humans.... (!)

Prediction: he emailed the seller, they replied back with something story about being on a military assignment in Argentina, but the camera is with his nephew in a unabomber shack in Montana who would gladly ship it upon receipt of a wire transfer to Bank of Lagos account number #45389436294.

Wow, gentleman, easy ! I have a day job, so I didn't see the seller yet.
He did answer my first mail, telling me (you more or less expected this) he is on vacation in Holland and that I could come over or wait until 23th of December (then he would be back) ...
Now, I'm in Belgium (and he knows it; usually they are in Scotland or the UK, making it a much longer trip), and it are small countries; I answered him I'm willing to come over. I'm waiting his answer now. I already found somebody to come with me, should I go.
Stefan.

No it's not a 'good price'. You are possibly exposing yourself criminally for knowingly getting into a deal with suspect goods. You should ask the seller for the receipt and ensure that it's not stolen. If that's covered then you should ask why it's being sold off for so cheap....
Don't do it.
And for your and your friend's safety, take precautions.

i would like to share my experience in this too (since i'm newbe hope you don't mind). i recently got myself a M9 for around 2000€ used. At first i thought it was a scam too so i tried to contact the seller and try to set up a date to get the camera. And suprisingly he agreed and we met each other in a public café to finish the deal.
And yeah, it is not stolen, the bill and warranty card was there, i even checked if the serial to make sure it was not stolen.
Got to mention that he was a long-time user in a german board who wanted to sell his gear because of some financial issues.
Now i have to say that i didn't plan to purchase one but i just couldn't resist the temptation...sadly i didn't have enough money to purchase his lenses...

Common sense tells you if it sounds too good to be true, something is fishy.
But why do they call it common sense if it's so rare

You never said how you found this camera seller. Was it a friend of a friend? A discussion on a camera forum that led to contact? A seller with a lot of feedback on Ebay? Those methods would give more confidence. A random advertisement from a stranger has a very high risk. To prove they really have the item, ask them to take a picture of it with another item, an apple, a 10 Euro note, etc. I suspected a scammer once who was talking a about a mint Angenieux F0.95 lens. I asked for a picture of it with a Quarter coin "for scale" and immediately got it. I bought the lens no problems.
Ask for the custom picture, then talk to him on the phone. Ask a number of questions someone with the camera in hand would be able to answer. If he acts stupid, tell him you changed your mind, the deal is off. If he doesn't give you the pic or the answers, the deal is also off. Only if you feel confident would I meet, without the cash, in a public place. Tell him before you meet that you will have the case "not on me, but nearby."

I doubt this guy is coming back to tell the story. It's not like we treated him well in the thread.
