I mean.. other than Brian Sweeney :)
(no offense Brian, but I figure you've probably got your hands full) :D

I was just wondering where folks would get these from. I mean, I was able to snag a decent little Jupiter 8 for a paltry sum off of Pnet but every time I look online for a Jupiter 3 or 12 or what have you I end up running into the Russian folks on Ebay.

Are any of these Russian ebayers decent/fair? or do you guys just wait for Brian to get one and then beg him to sell it to ya ;)

Cheers
Dave

Kim and Brian. Seriously...because of the problems with some of the lenses I wouldn't go through anyone else. And yeah, they're busy and I'm assuming there's some kind of a waiting period (days instead of months, though), but you know you're going to get something usable. Hopefully by Monday I can send my 85 to Kim.

Hi Dave,
No J3's at the moment (last one went in 2 mins!) but I will have a black J12 in a couple of days if you are interested. Just got to do the final checks on it.

I've had quite consistent good luck with FSU lenses bought from Russian or Ukrainian sellers so long as Daniel says, the feedback numbers are large and a minimum of 98% or so good. I also think you are better off with a lens which shows some cosmetic wear than one which is twenty years old and mint. The well used lens was probably good, and the usage shows it. With questionable quality control, a mint older lens may have been bad and put on the shelf. all of my well used lenses have been quite good. Dave

I'd say Fedka. Yes, he will cost more. He will also give customer service that more than makes up the difference, in my personal experiance. When I want something FSU, I always go to Yuri first.

I recently got back some slides (Fuji Astia) taken with a J8 from Kim. i've not had a chance to scan and post the picutres - work, etc., but I am amazed, amazed at the quality of the lens. I would just be patient until either Kim or Brian can go over one for you. I'm looking for a good J9 and I'm going to do just this.

After taking a look at the W/NW sonnar thread, I was wondering about the same question as well, given Dante Stella's comments on how most FSU LTM lenses don't have their focus calibrated to Leica/Bessa specifications. Its great to know that help can be found on RFF itself. :)
