I'm getting no help from Google support: sent them the serial and purchase date details for my Nik software several days ago, but so far I've only had one reply asking for more details, and then nothing else whatsoever in reply to several follow-up mails trying to find out what's happening. A total blank.
In the meantime I've seen people say they've had literally five-minute turn-around times from first enquiry to getting their download link.
Really frustrating to be met with a wall of silence - and I really feel that my original misgivings about Google buying Nik are being confirmed. Lousy customer service that really doesn't give a sh!t.
And there's no way Google are getting into the software production business to support third-party platforms - they're definitely in this to strip out the functionality to a ChromeOS app that'll only run on compatible hardware, while I'm convinced the plug-ins will stagnate and die.
Sad - I tend to use Viveza a lot, so my hope is that the version I already own will remain compatible with future versions of Ps and Lightroom, because I really have no expectations for its long-term survival in Google's hands.
