Parks wrote an autobiography in 1966, titled "A Choice Of Weapons." Its an interesting book, and one of the best books written by a photographer that I have read.
I grew up looking at and learning from Parks' work in Life magazine. We both bought our first cameras in Seattle pawnshops. His was a Voigtländer Brilliant, mine an Argus C3. I think I made the better choice, but somehow he became a world famous photographer and I did not.
