I took the plunge and just took delivery of this meter. The manual indicates that with a fresh 9V battery the needle should be in the area of the "batt green zone"" on the dial when the battery check button is depressed. But in this unit it goes beyond that section all the way to "over".

Other than that everything seems to be working fine compared to a Pilot 2 [outdoors] and the built-in meters on the Bessa-R and M6.

I just want to know from other owners if this should be a cause for concern since this is my first deluxe meter.

Thanks in advance!

Mine also, with a fresh battery. As it discharges the meter needle stops "pegging".

I fooled around with it a bit more and it does exactly what you said, it settles on the "batt green area" after stabilizing.

I really like my Luna Pro with the 9V battery. Only trouble is, it'd darn near bigger than my Zorki 1!

Agreed! I got this meter for night time/low light photo ops and actually never tried film over ISO 400 [always relied on flash, yikes!] ] but found some cheap Ilford 3200 locally so it's an opportunity to learn.

You know, in my quest to find a smaller meter I find that I keep going back to using my big lunker Gossen Luna Pro F. Add the 7.5/15 spot attachment and it just screams, "here's a person with a real problem, keep clear of them".

Cheers,
