For those interested, I plan to sell some spare Gossen Super Pilot meters and interested in getting feedback from members on battery preference so I can calibrate the meter's potentiometers. Meters of this age invariably need tweaking anyway due to drift from age, so while I'm doing it, I might as well calibrate for either a new style 1.35v Weincell or a 1.55v silver oxide cell. Both battery types have a similar 1 year life and level discharge. These Weincells are not the same as the earlier hearing aid types with a short lifespan of a few months. I've calibrated my personal Super Pilot for 1.35v volts and it works like a charm with great linearity across the brightness range and accuate sensitivity down to EV -1 (ASA 100) matching my reference Sekonic pro meter and my Nikon F100.

I've decided on the new style 1.35v Weincells.
