Finally got myself a J-12 from eBoy. The lens seems to be working fine and smooth, is black and made in 71. It doesnt fit my fed2! I tried it many times and I just cant screw it in. It screws in fine into Zorki3, and it also screws into Bessa R. The rear element doesnt touch the shutter. So I've been shooting with bessa today. It looks pretty good on it, and its quite small, too. Wonder what the results will come out like.

the J-12 is a fine lens, you should get great results, people say that it should not be mounted on a CV Bessa.
I cannot mount a J-12 on a Fed 2 also, the Fed's focusing cam arm seems to be set at a slightly different height than other other Feds or Zorki models.

Good to hear it mounts on a Bessa - but keep in mind that even if it fits it will probably not give correct meter readings. I use an Industar-50 on my Bessa too, it collapses fully if focussed close, if focussed at infinity it collapses 3/4rds. But it comes to halt when it bumps to a solid block of the interior - not the meter or the shutter, so no problem.

The meter shows a minus all the time. Thats okay. I'll be guessing exposure. Are there any other reasons J-12 should not be mounted on Bessa? I mean there were a lot of threads on this question, and as far as I remember, as long as the lens doesnt interfere with the shutter (usually later models) then its fine to use.

I dont have 35mm viewfinder to use it on my zorki. I've started taking a one time use camera apart, so i can make my own viewfinder. But thats harder to do than I thought, so it will take a while.
