got folder?

I don't have any pictures of my actual cameras yet, but I've attached some shots from my Isolette I and Retina IIa. I also have an Isolette II, Ikonta 520/2, Retina I and Retina II. Oh, and an old Kodak that uses 116 film.

The first is a Retina, and the other two are the Isolette.

My ISKRA, me taking photos with it and the last one is a portrait taken wide open at 1/15.

Got a couple, more on the way.

Got a couple, more on the way.

The picture was taken with a Retina IIa.
The camera shown is a Balda Baldix 6x6. I'm still waiting for my first film from that one to come back.
I've got a Moskva 5 on its way as well.

Tons of fun.

Did someone say, "folders"?

There's something about a Kodak Retina...

On at least two occasions I've almost grabbed a IIa. Lovely, pocketable, etc. Do you use it much, Frank?

Bought one today from a store claiming to sell items from estates. The case looked
like somebody was trying to make penicillin on it. It's a Zeiss Super Ikomat 530, better known as the Super Ikonta A.

It looked pretty nasty from the outside, but opened up the struts showed little corrosion, bellows seem OK, and the rangefinder just barely works. Shutter speeds
from 1/5 and slower are balky, but I feel sure it'll exercise out. Amazingly, no fungus
in the 7cm Tessar.

It was $12 ($15, 20% off sale). I rarely luck into stuff like this, so I'm pretty pleased
with it and how it has cleaned up. And I WILL put film through it.

Update--1/5 now working; two to go.

Just got back my first roll of 6x9 slides from the lab and I am pretty excited about them.

Now I'll have to find a way to scan them.

Anyway, I'll be watching them on my tiny little lightbox and will load another roll into it.

It's just amazing, such a big slide.

Got Folders. Retina's.

A II, IIa, and IIIc. Several shots in the Gallery with the IIIc, and need to check out the Ektar lens on the II. It was made in 1946, I guess the German Companies were still gearing up.

Are there any coupled RF folders left in the economical category? I'm finding out that being able to explain 'uncoupled rangefinder' and remembering to focus after calculating the distance are two different things. Funny because reflex viewing never really gave me any problems.

One other thing my Speedex does that drives me bonkers - if you forget to cock the shutter, and you press the shutter release button, it still trips the anti-double exposure interlock, and you get to wind past a whopping 6cm of precious film on a camera that already only gets 12 shots a roll. It's the folder equivalent of the dark slide.

Nice.
Any idea how the IIa and IIIc stack up against each other? I was considering a IIIc for the ability to go wide angle.

The viewfinder in the IIIc and IIc offer much more eye relief than the "squinty" IIa and II. The 35/5.6 is sharp, but remember you must focus using the RF to get the distance, then "reset" using a distance scale for either the 35mm lens or 80mm lens. In that sense, it is "uncoupled" once the 35/80 are put on it. However, with a little practice -and the DOF- you could get used to doing it by feel.

Both my IIa and IIIc have the 50mm F2 Xenon, a first-rate lens.

My IIa has the Xenon as well. I'm happy with it.
With the 35mm elements installed, are you able to close the camera?
Do you happen to know the filter size of the 35mm?

Thanks
