...and my rd1 is so very happy.
i answered the call of another member a while back and we traded our cv 15 mm lenses, he wanted a silver copy and i thought a black one would go well on the all black rd1 and so what the heck.
after what seemed like forever mine arrived in the mail today!!
i know i had the new 85 to play with in the meatime but that 15 is just so sweet in a tight spot.
tomorrow i switch kits and shoot the 15/28/50 combo.

Am now an owner of a third one - still LTM version as I do not see the value in the M-mount one based on the $$$ premium.
The FL is fun... a simplistic but effective way to describe this lens. Having a great time re-discovering its uniqueness.
Hopefully, this will be my last 15mm

on the rd1 this is a 23 mm fov, just perfect for me. i am tempted to get a new one to see if being able to focus makes any real difference.
i think this is my second copy also.

..as a proud and newbee owner of a CV 15/4.5, I choose this lens as "the one for this day" and take it with me during my weekend walk. Here are some examples. What really surprised me is that the lens can do something like bookeh - which I have not expected (last picture). And surprising as well: Not so much vignetting as with the CV 21.
I am starting to enjoy this lens...

Its a Facel Vega, presented at "Meilenwerk" in Duesseldorf, Germany by "Movendi". But it is a netherland license plate, not a "sunshine state" one...so maybe not your lottery win for today ;-)
Are you a classic car afficionado? Seems that some of the guys here in this forum are enjoying not only classic cameras but classic in general...

Seeing where Al lives, it should have been '53 Caddy Coupe deVille. I saw a lot of those growing up in Miamuh. I look back at some of the cars I have owned (all second hand but 5-6 years old) and could cry. 56 Porsche 356 coupe, 58 Jag 3.4 sedan, 69 Fiat 124 Coupe, MGB GT. Always had the want, found it hard to keep them in repair.

What I usually drive could be classified as "Ain't nobody gonna steal THAT! No WAY!!!" Right now it's a maroon 2001 Toyota Tacoma with large areas of the clear coat gone, a few dents, a bit of rust, sorta looks like my Leicas.

Back on topic. I just received my new/old R-D1. I have a CV 35/2.5 and CV Heliar Classic 50/2, so I am satisfied with them. When I buy a wide angle, what should I get? A 28 ends up being a 40, sounds like a good normal lens to me, but I will live with the 35/2.5 for now. So is the zone focus CV 15 the next choice, at ~23MM? I loved my GRD with a fixed 28 and snap focus for walk around street shooting. Would the 15 provide a less pocketable but better quality replacement? I have some time to think on this.

Joe, do you use Raw or jpegs out of camera? Reading your entries on Flickr it seems you do not use Raw. That ^ color is so right.

i shoot both raw and jpeg in the camera.
i start with a raw file, open it in pse 6 and then process it. i save it as both a tiff and a jpeg and post the jpegs on flickr.

I haven´t got the 15/4, but have both the 21/4 and 28/1,9. I like them both. Sharp enough for my purposes, lovely colours, and nice B+W contrasts too. The 28 is however bulky, but is the lens that I have on the camera the most, as I tend to take pictures when the sun is on its way up or down, funnily enough. The 21 also has rather significant vignetting wide open. I had the luxury of acquiring all my lenses at once, and have still to investigate the 35/1,4. The 50/2,5 is also a pukka lens.
