Pherdinand
the snow must go on
Enjoy it, BJ.
Well, after my IIIa was gone, I thought I can fool myself by buying a Kiev and some Jupiters.
Result: I like them, i use them...in the meantime I've just bought a Sonnar 50/1.5 and have about six contaxes on my ebay watchlist (just have been outbid on a IIa
).
The VW/Audi comparison works too. Even for sitting around in it, not necessarily driving. When i was fifteen, my father bought an older Audi 100 GL5S. 5S like five cylinders. A big car (for european standards) with a big motor. 7-8 years later the family was blown by the wind, no need for that big monster so he changed it to a VW Passat, same vintage. What a difference!
The Passat still runs well, though, with its 20 years behind. Just as my Kiev 1960 does
EDIT: i need my saturday-"morning"-coffee. I mean "enjoy it, Joe" not "BJ" of course!
