i got my leica cl in the mail the other day, and realized, I've only got leica digital and r gear... dangit, no lens.... so..... I started thinking and now have a nice pinhole drilled in the body cap -- the ultimate pinhole camera .... leica cl loaded with ilford 3200 ---- carrying the d-lux 4 to the party tonight, bonfire, booze, art, food, etc... will post some of the resulting pics as soon as possible

i once bought a m8 last year for around 1570 dollars..

while getting shipped here I started having mixed thoughts , the filter needs and the shutter re-cock sound , so I sold it for 1950 dollars the next day..

i've had the d-lux 4 for a year... i like it...

might get a russian 28/2.8 for the cl --- saw them cheap on the bay

most of the time i'm carrying my nikon gear and my digilux 2 and r kit --- it's nice to be able to try different things....

ok, my 15mm is on the way -- found it on craigslist, ATL -- Dave Lackey is picking it up locally for me...

any tips and pointers for the 15mm / leica cl combo?
know about keeping fingers outta the way, know about level horizions...
just not sure what to shoot now

Well, I reckon I will try some indoor/architectural shots with it before shipping it to ya!:D

But I won't keep it long. Just long enough to visit Marietta, Ga. and document The General from the Civil War's Great Locomotive Chase. The 15mm focal length should be really good for that using 400 and 3200 film. Will shoot two rolls, one on the M3 and the other on the IIIF.

Hi,

The Orion-15 is the ex-USSR 28mm lens to go for although some are frightened as it only opens to f/6 at widest. However, a search will reveal a lot of pictures taken with it to change your mind...

Regards, David

dave was a tad delayed sending the 15 to me --- understandable with the crisis in his life... should be here mid week.... any tips for shooting with 15 ????

was thinking of doing some low angle shots, a few walkarounds with the city and a little landscape
