Got my Oly Mui I back

I loaned my Stylus to Mom when she thought her camera was broken, and last time I went home she gave it back. There was nothing wrong with her camera as it turned out.

Any way, I took it out for some exercise. The River House used to be an ice house/cold storage facility that went out of business many years ago, and has now been rehabbed into luxury apartments, a restaurant, and rock climbing wall.

The first shot is a four image stitch.

I hope to find one of these camera's sometime. Don't it have a 35mm lens? Really like those converted apartments. Reminds me of the ones I see in Durham NC, renovated from an old tobacco factory.

Yes, Greg, a 3.5/35. I much prefer to shoot it with 200 or 100 speed film, but the Ultramax is pretty good.

Hush, hush! The Mju-I is so undervalued.. and let's keep it that way.. no need for prices skyrocketing like the II.

My personal preference by the way is for 400 speed film, as the shutter only goes to 1/15 and needs that even in moderately low light because of the 3.5 max aperture.

Yeah, I only paid $1.95 for mine. I'm happy enough with the Ultramax, but just like to get a bit more detail with the slower films.

The camera had one fault, and that was the detent for keeping the lens door open or closed was missing. It's a ball bearing that sits in a little saddle with a spring, just underneath the edge of the door opening.

I was down at one of the local Goodwill stores the other day, and found a Stylus for $0.95. Got it home, and it has some kind of electronic fault where the film will not load, and you can't change any settings while there is a film canister in the camera. It works fine without film in it. Oh well, I proceeded to pop the door off, so I could get at the detent ball to place in my other camera. So now the first one is back in order, and I've got a spare parts donor. Still only out three bucks total for both cams.

Good for you Phil. My local Goodwill has jacked up the prices so much on these camera's I quit buying. It will have to be a pretty special camera before I shell out $$. & as of late most of the cameras have issues of which any ding bat can notice & still they try to sell for 3 to 5 or more.

I was kind of surprised, Greg, when I saw the price. I figured it was just a dead battery, which unfortunately it didn't turn out to be. Most of the Goodwill stores around here have raised prices on everything. Their executives need bonuses too.
