GR Digital V to have APS-C sensor

One of the reasons I bought a Leica D-LUX 4 here, Panasonic and Sony are Japanese only menus (unless you buy an export model at a premium price).

Fortunately Ricoh is one of the companies that has English in their camera menus. And one of the reasons the Sony Coolpix A even if equal or if it may have advantages doesn't cut it.

I think you mean the Nikon Coolpix?

Not all digital cameras bought in Japan are in Japanese only. They have export versions of their cameras which are available in all languages.

There appears to be nowhere near as much anticipation for this camera—the GR—as the Fuji x100s. I notice fewer pre-order threads across the internet and only one friend mentioned his interest to me in person.

x100 was quite unique when it launched and generated a lot of interest.

I guess most Ricoh users are the quiet "A new Ricoh family member? Let me preorder it" type without generating too much buzz. 😀

First handful of shots taken on walk to the shops. Nothing special subject wise but the quality is a step up from the GRDIV.

I spoke with ace photo digital in Virginia and they said they got them yesterday and sold them all. It sounded like they were all online orders. There doesn't seem to be a good list of dealers for the US. Another dealer said that their Ricoh rep is sick and they can't order any.
