GR Digital V to have APS-C sensor

The coolpix A seems to have a very good little lens unit on it. I wonder if ricoh will be able to match or top it without being physically bigger... The previous GRD lens units, once extended are bigger than the coolpix A's when extended....

I wonder if they'll make a GXR camera unit version of it.

I wonder if Ricoh will continue GXR line or morph it into something....more Pentaxian?

A bit smaller lens doesn't change much as there still is body. This type of cameras aren't exactly smartphones (which also have WA lenses) to have flush body. UI, ergonomics, speed, stability, reliability and such things are what will or will not make them desirable cameras.

When I was on the phone to Henrys camera in Canada about the last item of my outstanding gxr order, I was told that Henrys bought up the last of Ricoh remaining stock..

Whether the gxr becomes something else Pentax like may happen since it seems they are betting on Pentax.

I really wanted to c a better gxr body that would have better sd card thru put and a a16 m module. I guess if its resurrected, I am sorta ok w/ that.

The lens doesn't extend as far as the previous GRDs. The body itself is a tiny bit bigger than the 3. It has a new DSLR/NEX-style AEL/AFL switch/button combo on the back. And now it's got a button for choosing effects on the side of the camera by the flash switch.

Just show me where to put my money, please.

Tell you what, I'll be constantly playing with my GRD III and GXR until this baby arrives. I do hope that Lightroom will support the DNG files in this version, so I don't have to buy the next version just to process them.

+1 Agree, been trying to hold out on LR4. Dont have a camera that "requires" it . . . . . "yet"

Only wish this would have been developed with a OVF like the original. I'd even settle for the same as the GR1. . . . .

I couldn't wait.. so the Coolpix A is where I went. So far, I'm pleased with the choice - the new GR does look excellent with a lot of the same main specs as the coolpix - the ergonomics of the GR should/would trump the Coolpix however :)

Now... pricing .....

Cheers,
Dave

Alright sweet. This looks pretty good. All it needs is a little tiny optical VF on the hotshoe and it's good to go. Lens mtf looks really solid.

You gotta love a new camera where the don't mention the 100 silly filters and useless modes (baby smiling holding a puppy) and video functionality that I'll never use.
