GR Digital V to have APS-C sensor

Well, maybe the future fw updates speed it up , I hope.

Seems very (overly?) positive on the camera. I'll wait and see what the firmware updates look like - I really really want to want this camera, and though the SNAP function can work, I'd prefer the option of fast AF or snap rather than relying exclusively on it.

Funny how this'll be the first GR I don't buy.

Maybe GR v.2 (what are they going to call it?!?!) will get there...

At day light the AF is fast and can be used comfortably for street photography. The snap function works really great though for the GR. Despite the larger sensor you still get enough depth of field with this camera. And once you see the images...

The poor AF was the reason i sold my GR1. My GRD3 has no such problems, but I would definitely want to handle the new GR before purchase (like most things...) just to make sure!

DB-60 works just fine. Got mine on ebay for $2.95 including shipping. Might be the best deal I've got on the 'bay!

Mine has landed as well!

A couple of first impressions in comparison with my GRD III.

The GR is:
+ Noticeably faster to turn on, it takes GRDIII approx. 2-3x as long to be ready to shoot,
+ Faster to focus; checked outside with good light this thing is FAST, in a darkish room was OK, for sure better than my X100 was,
+ The finish on the body is rougher, less slippery,
+ Noticeably better grip (I have large hands).
+ weight wise it's hard to tell the difference (<40g)

What I don't like so far is that the front wheel doesn't protrude as much as in the GRDIII.

Apart of that it just looks lovely, like any GRx camera. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship 🙂
