A propos nothing in particular, I notice that the cover of Graham Nash's new autobiography, Wild Tales, has a cover photo he took of himself (in a mirror, obviously) with a Leicaflex SL.

If you are a Graham Nash fan of both his music and his photography, try and score a copy of his book "Eye to Eye". The background he provides on his life in the introduction is great stuff. I tend to get my copy out from time to time for inspiration or just to re-live the late 60's and early 70's.

IIRC, his first solo album cover was a selphie, though I can't recall the camera he used. My copy went in the big auction I had to keep afloat at one point in my life.

PF

Note: Just remembered I had a CD (Songs For Beginners), and it was a Nikon F (plain prism) or Nikkormat. Kind of hard to tell from the grainy reproduction.

Poulton, was it? One of my favourite lighting designers (I taught him), Chris Pritchard, came from Poulton-le-Fylde.

And, though I'm not a fan of CNSY particularly, I do love The Hollies.

Can`t remember where I read that now ... just checked and all the bio references say Blackpool.
The family were evacuated to the coast during the war and moved back home to Salford sometime later.

"In an upstairs room in Blackpool
By the side of a northern sea
The army had my father
And my mother was having me"

Military Madness from Graham Nash's first solo album Songs for Beginners. I still have my vinyl copy purchased early in the summer of 1971. And I have a digital version downloaded to my iPhone and still listen to it often while my vinyl rig is waiting to be set up after our move to a condo last June.

Edit: And my avatar photo taken back in 1973 was inspired by that cover photo on Songs for Beginners

He was in Scotland on Monday promoting his new book. I was at Harry Goodwin's funeral on that day and Graham, who was a long standing friend of Harry's, had a message read saying he was sorry for not being there.
