Is it just me, or has there been a load of tremendous gear for sale in the classifieds lately? I have been tempted to buy a number of items, and while I have limited myself to a lens shade so far, I am not sure how much longer I can hold out.

At times like this, I wish that there was a 12-step program for camera addicts.

It's endless isn't it ... I have been trying to sell stuff in the classifieds and every time I look to see how my adds are going, I see gear I would like to buy! :bang: 😛

Such equipment buying and selling is very addictive. I simply stay away from it all until I see a super bargain. Then GAS takes over ...

Mark, you are right.

I just unloaded everything in the classifieds!

And it's your fault, Carl.

🙂

It's a loop - Carl encouraged me to sell something myself in the next week.

Roland.

Hey Joe, there's a nice CV 75 at MacBain camera. There's a sweet CV 28mm f1.9 too!

I get a bit of a gear thrill looking at the classifieds here. This whole flickr rff business is very addictive for me. I need to stay away for a while. I'm not sure what fascination it is sparking in me.

I have a great kit now and just want to have fun shooting with it...

off topic

Joe, congrats on the new addition to the family. He/she looks a little like something out of star wars.

The main location on 107th...maybe but you don't have shipping and boarder charges. They price match too.

Have you ever been to that antique camera store between westmount and kingsway? They have lots of great vintage camera stuff in there. What looks like three dozen types of OMs, an Olympus XA, an old Nikon rangefinder with a clean 50mm f1.4, a summicron DR with goggles (for $675), a Ricoh GR1, and many more than I can remember.

Ha ha, thank me or curse me...Yeah, I think it was classic cameras. They don't carry any modern cameras in there.

I don't think MacBains has the adapters for M-mount, which is something that bewilders me since they don't have screw-mount cameras. They can actually special order any VC item, I believe.

they must have taken the cv lenses in on trade if they are used, or were they new?

wally, at classic cameras is quite the character eh? i have not been in there for a few months. since he discovered the internet though his prices are not such bargains anymore.

I'm not sure. They are in the Leica dreamers cabinet. Let me know if you find a good answer. I've heard the CV 75 is very sharp. My moother tells me that's not a disirable characteristic in a portrait lens 😉. Ciao

Ugh! I've been considering getting a Ricoh GR-D for a long time, but told myself I'd never find a used one at a good price so I made my peace with it. Then one comes up in the classifieds. And within Canada too! Oy!

I agree with many good deals in the Classified section but my questions would be:

- do we see a trend of more gear being sold and if so why?
- do we see any trend on the price going up or down and if so why?

Anyone having an opinion about this! I have not been around long enought to have any firm opinion but my feeling is that there is more gear being sold now than before. My guess would be that people feel more comfortable buying/selling here than on E-bay etc but that´s only a guess.

/Jon
