What is the physical dimensions of the hood? I was shopping around today for my summicron-c 40mm too. Found a really cheap lens cap (5RMB, about 0.65 USD) and found some nice vented hoods too, but the guys/ladies at the store know nothing about the hood they are selling, only told me to look for them myself. I am wondering what is the length measured from the front of the lens to the front of the hood? And also what is the diameter for the front of the hood? Thanks a bunch. Hopefully I can get the hood cheap.

it only turns a bit, not all the way.
but it seems very secure.
