Green Zorki S(C)?

Yes. Doublecheck with Princelly: confirmed.

Do not know if the one on ebay is original though.

Btw, that one shows engaraving: "Festivalnyj" ie it has been produced in 1957 (unless it is a fake). I do not know if there were green "Festivalnyj" models. The fact that it is a Festival'nyj makes it rather rare.
 
This link says green covers were produced as well as white and red.

I just can't make out the engraving, but it looks quite well done. Looks like the first two digits on the serial number are 57. Overall, I find this a quite interesting camera.
 
I am sorry to disaggree but it looks more like a repaint to me. I know it is Zorki not a Fed but the 3 coloured Feds I have had looked very different from the after painted ones. This has the look of a later paint. The link to Rus-camera also looks modded to me. Their green one has the fabric skin that was used later. Possibly a Z5/6 skin?

You might very well be right Kim. The pic of the green example in the link I posted above [to Antique Soviet Cameras] appears to be the fabric skin while the auction item does not. Neither of those pics are very good - it's just hard to tell. However, even if the cover had been painted/replaced, the Youth Festival engraving makes it rather interesting IMHO and if the cover turned out to be fake, I'd personally have no quams[sp?] about replacing it with something nicer. Always going to be a problem with these cameras as is the fact that they come with ribbed nylon or vulcanite coverings Princelle says the S came in three colours but doesn't specify if that's in both vulcanite and ribbed nylon or just the ribbed nylon . Though having just re-read the description it is described as "an unusual green enamel finish"

There are at least 4 more Zorki festival,s on E*bay atm most appear to be around $50 (£26) BIN , So plenty of opportunity to grab an original .

if the cover turned out to be fake, I'd personally have no quams[sp?] about replacing it with something nicer

Seconded - looks like a re-paint job to me too...

I saw it and was tempted too, but I wonder if that paint's gonna wear off easily and look a mess.
 
Looking more carefully at the listing I should say I have never heard of a Zorki C Festival in green. Indeed colourd bodies had fabric skin rather than vulcanite (according to the few sources I have). So it might very well be a repaint. Also I would say the colour looks very smooth (no scratches etc) which is a bit suspicious.

However if it is original then it might be quite a finding!

Just a side note: I'm into feds/zorki's for only a month (a bit more) so I'm not an expert at all.

The price is still quite reasonable and after all collecting fakes is as justified as collecting originals 😉

Hehe, yes, that's just what I was thinking - if it's faked but still really cheap, then it won't matter and will still be a bit of fun.
 
Yep I did ........ I`ve been after an older Zorki and this one looked reasonable and in the UK..

I only noticed this thread after winning and there`s a lot of info here 🙂 .. Firstly, he describes the finish as "Enamel" - it`s clearly Vulcanized by the pics, someone who`s never felt a Vulcanized Zorki could easily mistake it for thick Enamel. Why someone has painted it green is a Different matter entirely (I`m sure the paint can be removed with Something) ..

When it comes, I`ll post detailed shots of the Festival Engraving and the finish.. I was Warned about FAS (FSU Aquisition syndrome) - Damn.. ;-)
 
I had it in my watch list but thought you where bidding on it Alan , so Just watched.

£22.65 ($43.00) wasn't to bad a price really , At least you save a bit on postage £6.95 ($13.40) has to beat £13.00 ($25.00) every time and no 2-3 week wait for the camera to turn up 🙄

I think there`s a good chance that it`s a genuine Festival but the vulcanite has been painted green (Maybe Billy Joe Armstrong was the previous owner - LOL)..

What attracted me to it was that he`d checked the shutter for pinholes (must have taken the body off) and that the I22 looks in good nick (not the same using it with a scruffy black J8 with a dented filter ring or a CV 28 Ultron ;-).. All I need now is a FED1 or FED2 and that`s my FSU Aquisition Syndrome complete body wise ;-)

I'm Pretty sure it's a genuine Festival as the year is right (1956-1957) and its engraved rather than silk screened , The colour has me intrigued as I have a FED 2 pre-series on the way in a very similar colour that looks like its the original vulcanite rather than painted but I will just have to wait and see .

you do know that your being delusional now don't you ? you start off just acquiring the odd camera but then you start spotting bargains on E*bay or you find out that your Zorki S comes with 3 different styles of engraving and wouldn't it be nice to have all three 🙄 and if the green turns out to be original wouldn't it seem fitting to get a black one to match .

Your on a slippery slope Adam , enjoy the ride 😀 😉
