Grey people

My comment about grey people on another thread -- Walk in Beauty -- appears to have been misunderstood by some, for which I apologize.

It was a quote from yet another thread, from the Leica forum on photo.net, in which we on this forum were accused of being grey conformists. My quote was meant entirely ironically, as I have never encountered a more diverse and interesting group in one forum. I should not, however, have assumed that everyone else had read he same thread, so once again, I apologize.

LOL! I admit it, I did think you were referring to those of us who responded to your thread. I was imagining you saying to us, "I find you all very amusing and droll. Now dance, plebes, dance!"

It was my dear wife who told me you could not possibly mean that, although she was also mystified by the 'grey people living grey lives' statement.

And now we know.

I do spend some time on PN, but not in the rarified air of the Leica forums. I own only a well-used Hektor lens by that fine firm.

Grayscale: one of my first loves.

Gray thinking: There's nothing wrong with agreeing with the majority if that agreement is based on experience and fact. There's nothing wrong with occassionally questioning the status quo, either -- unless you are only doing it to say "Look at me!"

my new avatar is my soon to be 'new' camera the canon lll w/ 50/1.9 lens.
i can't believe how excited i am to be getting it. i'm thinking it will be one of the 2 cameras i take on holdays this summer.

as for the nikon book - i love the reference to the 'modern camera' guide.
people must think we're all a bit off eh?
