I've read that LED display issues are common with these cameras, and sure enough, mine is no longer showing the symbols and is showing only parts of numbers. It is not a battery issue - I replaced that and there is no improvement in display. Is there anyone who can repair a faulty LED display? My research on the web has not been fruitful so far.

LED displays tend to be very generic, built from seven segment modules which are still available in many sizes.
But I don't remember the GR series having LED displays, indeed they are a decade or two too young for that - or did the GR1v have a special "retro" display? If you mean the LCD display, that is known to be their Achilles heel, and about the only hope you have is to revive the conductive rubber pad that is at fault there with magic incantations and a cleaning attempt. But in my experience that will only delay the failure process by a few months.

Thank you for the reply - You are correct - it is LCD, not LED. The incantations haven't worked yet. Access to the rubber pad does not look straightforward, though.

I get the same issue every once in a while with my GR1v, but strangely it just goes away on its own. Hasn't happened in a while for me now.

Mine comes and goes too.
Since I basically use it in snap mode and the aperture is on it's own wheel, as long as it breaks in the right setting I should be OK. The film will just rewind itself when its time for a new roll...
