Leica LTM Guess l need a Barnack to go with my Elmar

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
I started out with a IIIa as well, before getting a III, IIIb, IIIc, IIIa-to-f conversion, M3, M-E....

Hang on for your life, 'cause this train ain't got no brakes! ;)

out of interest my soon to arrive III has no collar around the shutter button do you know if they are hard to find, (probably are knowing leica).

It definitely gets worse. I had my black paint III and its companion Nickel Elmar completely overhauled by Gus and it is now on its way back.

I am now "idly" looking about for a Visoflex in good condition. :)

KEH has a Viso I in LTM with the 5x chimney finder for $39.00. Or $33 if you wit for the almost weekly 15% off sale. I didn't look but there was a double cable release available too.

I bought a cheap Visoflex reflex housing from Peter Loy a few years back, mainly for the chimney finder. Gave the housing to a friend, who promptly found another finder for it and a bellows set for under $40....I paid $400 for the complete set in a case ..d'oh! ;)

That reminds me, I still want a 200mm TELYT for this thing. :)

For the collar rings, the cheapest option has already been mentioned. I think DAG has some originals or copies for sale.

Mike, I was advised by a well-known UK Leica repair chap to go to the local bilke shop and buy an innertube valve collar (the bit that keeps the valve in place on the wheel rim).

Cost buttons, fits perfectly and you can't tell it's not part of the camera.

Hi,

Alas, a lot of sellers know that too...

It's a long time since I repaired a puncture but it looks to me as though it's been shortened and modified.

Regards, David

Beware, the thread is not always the same. If you jam it on it can be a pain to remove but yes, it is an elegant solution and there are lots of different knurling options for the discerning buyer.

There is a genuine collar for sale on ebay.com. The seller is foxefuchs who sells screwmount cameras he has refurbished himself, as well as various accessories.

Dag is out of everything for the III, IIIa and IIIb, he has some Canon collars that fit though.
