With my 15mm VF on my Leica, I do not have enough clearance to lift the shutter speed dial to change speeds. Any idea how to fix this? Is it safe to sand the bottom of the finder a bit to make it work, or will it break the finder?

I would try to create an "L" bracket that would relocate the viewfinder to the left.

Once you sand that viewfinder, you ruin its value, should you ever decide to resell it.

And although you might say that you don't plan to sell it, you never know what tomorrow might bring.

Well, it is my only non-digital, 35mm camera, so I don't think I'll sell it anytime soon - the matte coating on the plastic is all worn away from use as well - you don't see 15mm anymore.

The attached picture shows how I have currently hacked it - though I would prefer it being closer to the body.
