Half-case cheaper than Luigi's?

As I wait for my Epson RD-1 to arrive (yes, I took the plunge and decided to mail order from B&H), I was wondering if anyone is using a leather half-case for it, for protection, of course.

Luigi's cases seem really expensive.

I used to use a hand-made leather case for my M6 years ago that was Japanese made and had "Co-Co" inscribed on the bottom. Does anyone know if those can still be gotten and if they make one for the Epson?

Other alternatives?

Thanks, Charlie

I've been on the exact same quest. I've been trying to find a good half case for the R-D1, for those times when I just throw the camera over my shoulder and go out without my bag.

Luigi's case seems to be the only one made specifically to fit the R-D1 right now. I tried a Voigtlander Bessa-R case, but as I expected, the R-D1 is too thick to fit. I know Luigi has made less expensive versions of his M cases, using cheaper leather - maybe he would do so in this case? (no pun intended)

Otherwise, anyone else have ideas for half-cases?

I don't know about the RD1 but a Nikon case for the FG fits both my Bessa R and my Leica M bodies.

Frank you beat me to it, The case for the Nikon FM3a fits my MP okay. I had to cut alittle bit off the sides for the lugs on the Leica but it does work. The front (neverready) part even fits over the 35 cron and hood.
