Hammered tone Canon 7M?

this is from one of my friends. it looks very nice. according to him, the selenium meter still work but he think it is useless, he also said the 7s's meter is not so great too. for classic camera he likes meterless, he can use an external meter like voigtlander's and never need to worry about banned battery et al. I think this is a good idea. I personally do not like Canon RF so much, because the louder shutter noise and huge body profile of 7. he is a chief technologist of camera repair company, I send most of cameras to him for CLA or repair.

I'm not sure how he did it, but Rustoleum Hammer Finish spray paint is easy to apply, covers small imperfections well, and comes in a variety of cool colors. (How about emerald green hammer finish with dark green leatherette?) I use it a lot when refinishing parts I've cleaned up on my old car. Never tried it on a camera, but I'll bet it would work.
 
There's a range of Hammer Finish spray paints called Hammerite as well.

Like the sound of the "emerald green hammer finish with dark green leatherette" could look good on the Fed 2 I'm waiting to arrive 😀

Hammerite is available in the UK, and I'm always reading good things about it in British classic-car magazines. I've never seen it in the US, but the Rustoleum product seems about equivalent. There may be different brands in other countries that would work just as well.

Another thing I've idly pondered trying on a camera is wrinkle-finish paint. This is another spray paint; you apply three heavy coats at specific intervals, then heat it a bit as it dries. If done well it gives a nice wrinkled or 'crackle' finish.
