... or the daily traps of working close to two classic camera stores.

My signature said it well and I knew I had it coming... so today I set out to take photos during my lunch break with the Contax-IIIa and the 85/2 Jupiter-9. I did take a few shots and then started strolling slowly back to work. I told myself while in front of the FotoSkoda shop (yes, I work in a dangerous area for the purse!) "why not check if the have a 85mm VF ?"

I enter, and no ... no 85 VF. I go in the Zeiss collectible exposition shelf and spot ... a 28/8 Tessar. Interesting price, nice condition... I check it out, notice its not coupled but hey, why not fetch it. So here we go, I'm now owner of a nifty Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar. It seems to be a prewar uncoated version, the body is silver, with s/n 2391570.

I'll see how it performs and once I get my CV 21/4 I will decide what do to with it ;)

Be well all :D

Something makes me feel you'll keep both of them
Ciao :D

Sure thing Eugene! I am bringing it right now with me for the afternoon "coffee break" ;-) Hoping to finish the roll in a couple days maximally. Meanwhile, some eye-candy :D

Thanks also to ferider, I think I will have a thougher choice now when bringing out my contax... this means I must have the kiev w/ J3 at hand!

Hex, Max, they do have some nice stuff there.

I have a russian 85VF (or at least I think I do, I'll need to check when I get home). I am selling off my Kiev and Contax stuff in the classifieds, and no longer need it.

It's your's if you still need one. Just for postage, and some Budvar the next time I'm in Prague.

Max, it looks like a black hole in the little Contax :) Nice one.

So you're getting to the wider angles. Relatively more expensive part of a Contax outfit..

Definitely expensive, and I just had sold my wide angle Pentacon Six' Zeiss Jena Flektogon 50/4 lens. Unknown to me was that I'd get a zeiss wide angle ten days after.

And yes, for my budget it's quite expensive! But Prague has its little secret places ;)

El Tessarito strikes back .. here are some shots taken with the Tessar 28mm f/8 :

there are a couple J9 and J3 photos among those. I am surprised about the overexposing of several photos, I might need a filter to darken the skylight a bit. This might prove problematic as well with the 21/4 CV ... what are your suggestions ? :)

Thanks & cheerios,
Max
