I recently acquired a like new GSN from a Great Uncle's estate and immediately sent it off to G'Man for a CLA. When I picked it up, I shot a test roll of Provia 100F through it and determined I need to set the ISO @ 125 for shots including at least 1/3 sunny skies and @ 100 for everything else. My primary interest in the camera is for candid, low light and night shots. To that end, I carried it prefocused around my neck taking uncomposed shots while walking through the crowd at Columbus's Jazz & Rib fest. Just watched for the yellow warning light while using smallest possible f stop. The pictures, for the most part came back well composed and properly exposed. Very pleased using it this way. Next I will be trying some low light and night shots. I also took some composed skyline shots of downtown Columbus from across the Scioto river that came out fabulous!

My primary interest in the GSN is taking candid shots while not being intrusive or obvious. I go to Manhatten several times a year to visit (my sister and son live there) and I love walking the streets people watching but never felt comfortable carrying a camera and taking photos. The GSN just solved that issue, it will be with me on the next visit!

Very happy with the camera and G'Mans work!

I determimed what the hyperfocal distance was for the lens at f/16 (19'), f/11 (27') and f/8 (38'). I then measured off these distances and focused the camera at each distance. I noticed that when focused at 19' the f stop indicator (red line) was at the "2" of the 20' ; at 27' it was between the "2" & "0" and at 38' it was at the "0" position. The calculator used for this indicated that the in focus range would be:
f/16 from 11" - inf
f/11 from 13.5' - inf
f/8 from 19' - inf

I would set the lens according to the above depending upon the f stop . Since most of my shots were at least 15' away the results were satisfactory.
