I'm so sure there was a thread about pictures that reminded you of happy memories/make you smile.

I was in the need for a smile. So I looked for it, but I couldn't find it.
So I'll start one.

This is from when I spent a day with one of my best friends. She was leaving for uni shortly afterwards. One of my favourite memories.

These little girls live on a tea farm in central Taiwan.

What's the story behind this one?

He was having the time of his life tossing strings of beads in the 2005 Orlando Gay Pride Parade. As we passed this group of protesters and I raised my camera, he kicked it into high gear. Simultaneously the protesters raised their signs to hide their faces, leaving him as the one center of interest to make the photo work.

I find it amusing how the protesters are hiding their faces, as if they are ashamed of their views somehow...
