One of the most well-known sights in Tokyo: the rock and roll fans who gather at the Harajuku gate to Yoyogi Park every Sunday to dance in public.

Because of the rough asphalt and stone surfaces they dance on, they tape up their shoes with electrical tape. After their performances they meticulously gather up all the bits of tape that have come off their shoes to keep the area clean.

On the day I was there, three separate groups were dancing in separate areas. After their first set and a break they then came together to dance as a combined group.

That sort of consideration is amazing, especially since these days, lots of folks won't even give up their bus seats to a pregnant woman.
