has anyone converted their Hexar AF lens to M-mount?

I am wondering... if the whole deal costs more than $450 why not get another working Hexar or Hexanon?

...and keep a fascinating camera with a genius AF-system repairable (maybe someone else can do it) instead of irreversibly killing it...
