I have not done well with my list of resolutions so far this year.

1.) Lose weigth and improve physical condition ----- NOPE.

2.) Not purchase any additional cameras ----Almost, I have only bought a Minolta 7 SII, Vivitar 35 ES and a Kodak Monitor 6x9. These just happened to fall into my lap at decent prices, I am so weak!!!

3.) Not make any E-bay purchases this year ---- so far, so good. But I do have from 2 to 10 items in my watch list at any given moment.

4.) Sell majority of unused cameras and photo related equipment and re-claim garage for car and spare bedroom for guests----- HA!! Not a single item sold so far. (I really need to purchase a POS digital camera to list items on internet. See resolution NO. 2).

5.) Invest in CLA's on the handful of cameras that I should keep and use. ---- Nope! So far I have not sent a sinlge one out. I did send out 4 last year and I will eventually get around to doing the remainder this year.

6.) Develop film in a timely manner---- Nope!! I am looking at 14 rolls of 35mm and 120 film, a stack of 4x5 film holders and a couple of 8x10 film holders on my desk right now that have been exposed.

Let's hear from some of you that have kept your resolutions so far.

That's why I don't make those kind of resolutions!
My wife and I did decide to forgo adult beverages for Lent, and are doing OK. I think that's more important, but i wouldn't give up photography for Lent. Of course that's creative, and If we were given that talent we should use it. 😎

so far i have been completely lost on the cut down on buying gear one
i have caught up and am keeping up with my film processing.
my one light portrait project is on hold but the paw is going strong.

not bad for an old sinner...

No wrt gear, yes wrt PAW.

But then, every day is a new day to fight an addiction. I "reset" the resolutions on my birthday. 🙂

Cheers,

Roland.

There's a reset button???😱 😱 😱 Oh the grief I could have saved myself in the past had I only known.😀

I only made one resolution this year. That was to keep a PAW. So far so good...

I wanted washboard abs by my birthday, but I'm a little behind, so close, though. I got sick so was unable to do cardio for a couple weeks, gah. Almost there!! 😀

The key is to make and begin your new year's resolutions around thanksgiving.

1) I have a long standing rule/resolution of only keeping two rangefinder cameras. It is a rule I routinely break, but I do try to avoid having cameras around that I don't use or that I don't really need. I essentially have three Ms now and the resolution is on life support.

2) I'd resolved to read and work with two books related to the Zone System and exposure - marginal progress. Hard enough to find the time to take pictures let alone reading about it.

3) Wanted to become proficient in digital editing - complete failure there. Scanning and photoshop are the twin towers of failure in my resolutions.

4) The non-camera related resolutions are going better than the photo resolutions are.

5) Ah, almost forgot - I resolved, for the 10th year in a row, to continue my pursuit of the perfect camera bag. I am still working on it.

Knowing that I would have forgotten what my resolution was by February 3rd, forget March 3rd, I did not make any.

But I am shooting more, keeping up with the PAW, and trying to be motivated about eating healthier and exercising.

Mine was selling the equipment I really don't use any more.
So far everything goes right. Sold at least 20 items and more to follow. But it is getting more difficult now.

I was ok until Ash and Scotforthlad decided to keep theirs and sell off surplus kit, had to buy.
Now I gotta wait until next Dec again.

Did I miss something? I don't really know what PAW is.

Sometimes I 'frame the world,' so to speak like this:
There are basically 3 kinds of people:

1. TopDown. TopDowners make lists, 1-2-3...
I'm going to lose weight. I'm going to control my GAS 😀

2. BottomUp. BottomUppers evolve as things happen. I begin a long email to a friend, and later fill in the subject line in line Re: what I have written. Or, as a result
of getting out there with my cameras plus some forums in RFF, I limit my gear in street shooting to 2 bodies and 2-3 lenses.

3. A combination of 1 & 2 above. Perhaps, that applies to most of us.

I'm very much a BottomUp person. As the year turned, I did not really make any
new resolutions. Yes, I need to lose weight and reduce my credit card debt 😱

Well, it is 2-1/2 months into 2007. I bought a new Bessa T and CV 25/4 and love both. A used Bessa R is on the way. There are little green buds on the trees. Life's good, thank God.
Cheers, mike

My wife and I are expecting our first child next month so we only made one resolution each. We're not big on the idea of resolutions to begin with.

Hers was to read one book per week, which she is keeping up with admirably even at 8 months pregnant.

Mine was to train for, enter, and finsh two ultramarthon bike races. To date, I am on schedule to do it (one 12-hour race is in July, the other 136-mile race is in August). In fact, I just got back from a 22-mile training ride. Beautiful day here in New England.

I made no photo-related resolutions, although if "shoot less film" had been one I would certainly be keeping it. As a parent-to-be I have really come to embrace digital. Grandparents don't want to wait for film to be processed, scanned, digitally post-processed and then finally e-mailed. They demand their grandchildren's photos immediately! 😉

I have stuck to a gym routine since January. No six-pack, still a full barrell, but I'm still going.

I don't make resolutions regarding camera gear - I only try to set myself attainable goals.

I normally make only one serious resolution and fail to keep it - to give up smoking. This new year I decided to make none and guess what? - I've stopped smoking - almost 8 weeks now  . I sort of resolved to make my photographic life simpler and have moved or am moving a lot of stuff on, but I have had quite a few GAS attacks lately and I am concerned for the future 😉 .
