Has anyone noticed a film camera sell-off??

This sort of post goes around and around. For each sold camera there's a bought camera.

Anyway, I've sold all my digital gear (bar one camera) to buy film equipment. Never been happier.

I think there's a couple of factors behind the recent uptick of film gear for sale. Most obvious, here in North America it's income tax time. Secondly, the economy is still not in the best of shape and when it comes down paying expenses and shooting for pleasure for those of us not professional, expenses are going to win.

As for the vintage Nikon RF gear surfacing all of a sudden, maybe it's because their owners are dying off?

Nah, it's because of a certain individual having (almost) listed them all at once with as superb darn clean tempting photos as usual, so this fools the game a little bit. 😀

I'm selling digital to buy more film camera's...

In fact I just sold a Fujifilm S2 Pro, and used the money to fund THREE of the Travelwide 90/65 mm large format cameras from wanderlust. The Kickstarter Project has reached it's $75,000 goal in 11 (that's right, eleven) days.

I am selling film camera's, and have for a long time, on eBay. They're all selling and prices are good. Garage sales, Goodwill and Craiglist is allowing me to make pretty good income on eBay.

I am selling mostly 35mm stuff to fund Medium Format and Large Format.

The extent of my digital usage is to take pictures for eBay.

It's all good, and the good news about people selling cameras is this.
People are also buying them, interestingly at a rate related somewhat to the number selling... Hmmm , does that sound right.

I'm on a film developed and printed using the Caffenol and Folgernol process (yes you can do the printing with instant coffee also). I'm thinking about new biz cards with the name "Coffee Break Images".

Continue to roll those camera's through the capital grinder.

I recently bought an M8 and and M9, but I also bought a Nikon S3 and a Hasselblad SWC. It is film and digital cameras. Both are very good. Film was always good, and digital cameras have caught up.

I could sell quite a few film cameras, but older digital cameras do not bring much money.
