I have relatively low post counts on other sites, and still buy and sell with great folks.
Everyone is new here at some point.

Back before the classifieds (when the For-Sale ads were mixed in with all the other threads) we used to self-police this "phenomena'. Members came down pretty hard on sellers who started a FS thread and had low post counts, especially if your first post was a FS ad.

if the prices are out of range, we're still benefiting from them supporting the site with their ads. Am I missing something here?

Glad to have the newbs! But the prices for these items are kinda crazy high, by our usual standards.

I'm a newb here but may decide to sell some gear at some point. I have never sold anything on eBay and there is really no way for people to check that I am honest.
FWIW and as an idea to other fellow newbies: if I were to sell something to any established member of RFF I would offer the option of inspecting all gear before they paid. This puts one in a somewhat precarious position, but in the end FOR ME a risk i would assume without hesitation. Selling to people who appreciate the same things and offering them those things at fair prices is always more fulfilling to me personally than a quick sale to a complete and anonymous stranger over eBay. Just MHO.
