has anyone tried this 35/1.7 out on the nex?

whoa, that is definately a "character" lens. Reminds me a bit of the Canon 50/.095 used wide open.

Sorry but the edges on my Canon 50/0.95, even when used on full frame 35mm, are much sharper than on this CCTV lens -- and it's almost 2 stops faster.

I agree that the Canon is sharper at the corners; it was the type of weird rendering, not the degree, that reminded me a bit of the 50/0.95 😀.
