Hasselblad Announcement -New Chapter!

Hasselblad's new product announcement of the new modular body and the updated back, coupled with the ability of the new body to use XCD series lenses as well as V system lenses via a mount adapter, is right on the money for me.

I don't know whether I'll buy any time soon, or ever, but this is what I expect from Hasselblad. And they have done it beautifully.

My Hasselblad V system is not for sale. πŸ˜€

CFV-50C using a 50MP 43.8 x 32.9 mm CMOS sensor. So the CFV-50C mark II use the same sensor?

Yes, I believe so. Updated electronics, a new screen, etc, are what the update provides. Also likely compatibility with the 907 body.

Fit that back on the 907 body, fit that with the XCD 21mm lens, crop to a square, viola! You have a fully digital SWC, all native mounting and AF to boot... πŸ™‚

Damn, I want one. Sigh. :bang:

Would have to be, right? There are no controls on the camera itself!

OW,

I'm just guessing.

My SL can be used like an IPAD. These touch screens have really advanced.

I wonder about weatherproofing? Modern AF lenses use internal focus. A touch screen with no knobs, buttons or switches suggest perhaps weatherproofing.

If weatherproof it is a big deal.

I'm certain that the controls are all soft for XCD lenses. This is what also enables the camera to be operated completely from a tethered controller.

V system lenses, of course, you work manually from the lens.

X system lenses and mount are all weather-sealed. I would bet that the 907 body is too, and seals the CFV 50C II when it is mounted.

Still, the matter of shooting vertical would posed same 'challenge' with it. No?

It's not hard to shoot 'verticals' with a Hasselblad solid-state body that has a rear mounted LCD... It's just not so easy with a waist level finder on a reflex body because you have to look into the finder with the camera held sideways.

Similarly, if you fit a 500CM with the right angle prism finder, it's easy then too. πŸ™‚

Very interesting move by Hasselblad ! Evolution! Compatibility! Quality!
robert
PS: it's not the camera for my style of shooting...or...I cannot justify one !

Yes, this is very exciting indeed.
I am still content using my iPhone 8 with the M8 and M9. 😎 πŸ˜€
