Hey guys,

Total rookie question I guess - I just got a 500 cm with a Planar 80mm f2.8, and I just can't figure out how to change the shutter speed. The Aperture and the Shutter ring seem to be coupled, but the button on the right doesn't uncouple it.

If it is C lens, you have to move the ring which is close to the front towards front. Those SS and aperture rings are together so that the light value won't change. To change it, you have to physically more one forward...

Hey, thanks for that link. I might find something. The lens is older than the version with the orange button, does this image help?

That is a "C" lens. Follow the guidance in post #4. Search the Hassy site (link in post #2) for the 500C instruction manual; it has full operating instructions for the C lens.

The orange button is on the newer lenses and locks the shutter into the open position (F) for use on cameras with a focal plane shutter.
