Hasselblad SWC is cool

Looks very strange with the waist level finder at right angles. I've not seen that done before. Should be fun...

It is then used without a film back and you need to remove the finder and attach the film back to take a photo.

First shutter speeds marked to left of "B" are for calculation only, on Synchro-Compur shutters.
They do not work!
The SWC and the photos here are stunning.
My favorite street camera that i never afforded when i was pro, nor now.
Thank you all for great images..

Have fun! I love mine, though I've rarely used it on a tripod and never with a finder on the back like that. I prefer to push a couple of stops and handhold, keeping my eyes firmly on the bubble level on top.

The SWC is one of the outlier cameras on my “Dream” list that I’m working my way through but As my 500CM is likely my forever camera the SWC will be a permanent addition when I do finally get one. It’s just such a marvelous lens!

It's a great lens, but hand held it performs much better on an Alpa 12 WA. The shutter release on the Hasselblad is very rough indeed compared with the Alpa and leads to camera shake.

Of course another advantage of the Alpa is that you can use a 35mm Apo-Grandagon on 6x9cm.

Cheers,

R.

Out of interest, how do you use the 38mm Biogon on an Alpa 12? I don't know anything about the Alpa's...

Some of my work here.

And some more. The SWC/M is a beautiful camera to work with.

If I want to shoot film these days, and it is getting less and less, I want to shoot the SWC or my Fuji 69. It makes me giggle with joy. I get the same feeling shooting my Z6 with my CL summricon 40mm. What is life without whimsy.

Hi, what are the best repair shops in the States for the SWC?

Hasselblad USA can do it. So can David Odess. I've never used Hasselblad USA, but have heard good things about their service and turnaround time. David Odess was trained by Hasselblad as a repair tech and worked for that firm before starting his own business. I have used his services before and have purchased equipment from him. He's a real gentleman and does good work. His e-mail is hblad1@comcast.net.

Thanks. I did go with him. I recommend him.

This camera has had a "bad rep" regarding digital backs.
But in my opinion it works briliant together with the CFV50C back from HB.
I have been using this combo now for 18 months and I have nothing to complain about!

Ray

Great stuff!
