Carnac France. Not until I got back, developed the film and then printed the negative did I see the face in the rock, interesting as I wonder if it was accidental because none of the hundreds of other stones at the historic site had anything similar.

Such a Beautiful shot. Along with so many of yours in Helen’s thread. And I agree with you, girls in trees is indeed a thing, and long has been. Is it independence they seek, or the comfort of the tree? A 90 year old friend of mine gave me a little water colour sketch she’d done from her hotel window in Budapest many decades ago. Pleased by my interest in her skill she then gave me a copy of a self portrait she’d taken aged 18 or so, with her quite a way up a tree and with the Rolleiflex nestled in the crook of two branches. I found it wonderful to see in front of me this vivid and curious old woman and in my hand the picture of her so young and determined to put herself, her self, in the world, recorded, and recorded by her and in her tree.

Thank you very much, Richard, that’s very kind. Thanks also for the lovely story. It’s often the small, personal kindnesses, or life’s incidental moments that remain with us the longest, like taking a photo of yourself in a tree when you are young.

Some lovely work in this thread! Thanks for posting it, all of you!
I do miss my SWC, dang it. I'll go solace myself with the 907x and 21mm lens today... It's not quite the same, but it will have to do.

Lake Geneva.
Lake Geneva.
One from a few years ago, the light was terribly contrasty due to the time of day.
