I think there are only a few of us here that have this camera, unfortunately.

Not my best, but as no one else is posting, one taken late this afternoon - with my SWC/M.
1/30s f/4.5 handheld with Tri-x standing in Rodinal for 1 hour ! ISO 1600+ ?
I am amazed at how little grain there is and that the highlights held up, but would have liked more sensitivity in the shadows.
Open-doors day in Edinburgh - so selected buildings normally closed to the public were open. Taken in the dimly lit Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh

Wish I had a 21mm Summilux.

You will have to learn to love your scanner - digital is the modern thing you know. 🙂 If you wet print you can always scan the prints.

I think so. And from my experience the Epson V700 is very good and easy to use.

FrozenInTime...which Tri X is that you used..the 400 i assume, not the 320? or is that the old tri x

It's the current Tri-x 400 labeled 400TX on the box and negs.

I've never had much success with flatbed scanners - focus, flatness and banding issues,
So for web use I now 'scan' B&W negs by taking a picture of the neg on a lightbox with a cheap DSLR (Olympus E-420) and macro lens.
( Though I have yet to profile the camera well enough to get good color neg scans )
The print heads on my Epson 2200 blocked up ages ago so I don't have a digital printer - but I'm happy to darkroom print for best quality anyway.

Wow, $1299 is an amazing deal.

I borrowed Monochrome's SWC and shot the following. Not a typical "portrait" camera, as it sure adds some interesting elements to the composition.

It is a PITA, but can be useful if you insist on composing close up. You have to remove the VF, set the lens to B, use a release cable with a block, then focus, close the shutter, cock it, attach the magazine, remove the dark slide, shoot, insert the dark slide, etc, etc... it is more cumbersome than using a field camera, but at least SWC is much smaller...

I have an M4-P, my first Leica M body, that I'll be purchasing in a few weeks plus some CV lenses... when I add up total costs I could almost buy an SWC instead, of the dilemma! As much as I would love an M series camera, and SWC would be just as nice 😉
