Some good photos, Raid! The town looks so German ...
I loved wandering around Munich, Aachen, and Strassburg when I had the chance way back when; wish I'd had an SWC to shoot with then. One of these days I must get to Berlin. The way the SWC lens 'creates' spaces is wonderful.
Your light leak looks like a dark slide seal to me. It's more common with the A24 backs compared to the A12 backs from my experience. When I reacquired my Hasselblad kit, I specifically didn't buy any A24 backs ... Simply no point due to the loss of 220 film on the market, and I had none in stock. I'm happy with 12 shot rolls, however. I'm amazed at how long it can take me to consume a whole roll of film nowadays.
I must get off my duff and go out with the Hasselblads this week ... I think I'll share a back between the SWC and the 500CM to play with the differences between the Biogon 38 and Distagon 50 lenses. I haven't made any photos with the 50 just yet, it's about time.

I got the 24 back for free with the SWC when I bought it. I will not risk using the 220 back until I have it fixed. The posted images are from Nuremberg (Nuernberg).

Anyways, like Godfrey, I love the 12 exposure workflow. I have been struggling to find time to finish my last roll of Ektar this week. Only because of logistics, not a lack of passion or opportunity!
I do like the use of bulk rolling for long term storage though. And the 24 back... yeah, not a bad thought.

Hi Dave,
Wedding photographers used to prefer 220 backs so that there is no need to switch backs or to load a new roll of film during the wedding ceremonies. I have not seen anything about bulk loading 120 film. The 220 film has no paper backing for the film while 120 film has such a paper back.

I just took a look at a second roll of 220 film. Half of the images have the same shaped light leak on the left side. Half of the images are fine. Is this with the back?

Had this issue a few times with my backs. Easy fix, YouTube it. Get a seal kit, have become expensive now but easily installed. I date on my backs when I have changed the light seal kit, to keep an eye on their age.
I think they go bad because the slide is in more than it is out and they memorize the slide in position. When removing the slide, the foil and rubber stays open and the light gets in.

I've never seen bulk 6cm non-perf film available that you could easily bulk load. 70mm perf is available from Ebay, but you need a different back for that. It is like 35mm in that it doesn't have a backing paper at all. 220 rolls have backing paper at both ends to light seal the roll. 70mm film and magazine can be loaded up with 100-200 exposures worth of film, depending on the thickness of the film.
Hmm. 30.5m rolls of 70mm surveillance (ASA400 B&W negative emulsion) film is available from Ebay at about $250 /roll for reasonably fresh stuff, and 70mm film magazines are available and plentiful for $50-$100. One roll of 12 exp is about 1m of film, so a 30.5m roll is 30 rolls or so. But a five-pack of Tri-X is about $26, which makes the 120 rolls less expensive on cost per frame. The value of the 70mm back is mostly that you can make a lot of exposures without changing backs, very useful particularly with one of the EL model motorized 'Blads.
If I was planning to shoot a lot of film, I might be interested to pick up a back and a bulk roll. But that's not how I work...
Oh yes: B&H Photo still sells 50' rolls of fresh 70mm Ilford HP5 @ $183/roll. The problem there is that the minimum order is 15 rolls. You have to plan on doing a LOT of film for that to be worth the cost and effort.

The film and I am "the color problem". I play with each frame by using a software or two to get colors in and out and then I also get IR renditions.

I bought up half a case of 400 EI 70mm Surveillance film (about 25 or so 150 foot rolls) cheaply from a military surplus place in California. I have another couple of dozen rolls of various flavors of double perf Plus-X, Tri-X, even some Agfa Aviphot. And I have six or seven Hassy A70 magazines that are functional. I even have 150' of 70mm High Speed Infared 2424 I am saving for future!!
I use a Kindermann 70mm stainless roll and daylight tank (B&H used to sell them for about $200), use 70mm plastic pages for neg storage. I cut the wet film into twelve exposure strips and hang it that way to dry. Yes it's unusual and could be more expensive than 120. As you say, I seldom if ever run out of frames with any of my Hassys.
One day I should start a thread on this topic. I wonder who else here uses 70mm?
