I was fortunate to spend three days in Havana, Cuba. I took with me a Leica M9 and a 35mm summilux. In the following link, you can see my Havana documentary photography and a personal account of this experience. Feedback welcome, as always.

Nice photograph! The halo around the head is a bit distracting though.....

Shooter of Film...
Cuba is a place I would like to visit...It has a look all it's own...
I like what you did there and your comments were interesting to read too...
I don't think I could live there though...it's very interesting what people get used to...

Only looked at the photos. No time at the moment for the article. Nice and interesting photos, although I thought that some of the bw-photos are a little too contrasty.

Just got back from 6 days in Cuba. Was visiting family so I only had limited time to shoot and I'm dying to go back with more time.
Very nice photos and commentary.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I do think that it's a place that really works for photographic purposes. I am not sure I could live there either. There are things I really appreciate, but then there are others that I just cannot imagine.

I see your point...
I see your point...
I would agree that they are quite contrasty. I have not shot much in Black and White, and only started when I got the Leica. Somehow it felt appropriate. I do recognize though, that I like color very saturated, and black and whites quite contrasty. Perhaps, that as many other things in my photography will evolve.
Thanks for taking the time and sharing the feedback.

I hear you...

I noticed it as well, and does bother me somewhat. have to check when I get access to my library, but I think it was there as a consequence of light source being behind the subject. I might have darkened the sky and perhaps got it worse. I'll look into it. Thanks.
